On Tuesday evening, October 23rd, at the Upper Moreland Township building, the Upper Moreland Historical Association hosted Mrs. Judy Parrish who presented a most informative and entertaining history of Old Willow Grove Park. Dressed as a person of the period, her narrative
talk took the audience through the history of the Park from its opening to its close, and then through its second phase as a western themed park.
Included in the story were why the Park was opened and ultimately closed, whom it served, what it offered, the big names that performed there, how social changes affected the Park, and how it endured some hard times.
On display before and after the presentation were many postcards, Park souvenirs, newspaper articles and pictures of the prime attractions of the Park.
Mrs. Parrish and her assistant, Shirley Heater, were on hand to answer questions and further discuss the Park both before and after the presentation. Their friendly, knowledgeable, and personal response to the audience made the meeting a truly memorable occasion.

Truly sorry I was unable to make this presentation. I hope it will be repeated next year.
