Why go: The basketball game is a monthly meetup for basketball players of all abilities, teens and older. The games are held indoors in the gym. Bring a team, or form a team with others when you arrive.

3. Summer Concert Series - Barbone Street Jazz Band
Where/When: Masons Mill Park, 3500 Masons Mill Road, Huntington Valley; July 10, 6:30 p.m.
Why go: Upper Moreland Parks and Recreation Department sponsors the annual Summer Concert Series, featuring Barbone Street Jazz Band July 10, with jazz, Dixieland and swing in bright, colorful and original style. Carpooling is recommended. Bring lawn chairs and blankets.

Where/When: Pennypack Ecological Restoration Trust, 2955 Edge Hill Road, Huntingdon Valley; July 12, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Why go: The aquatic safari is a watery quest in search of hellgrammites, water pennies, whirligigs and other exotic denizens of the water world. Wear old sneakers or water shoes, and bring an old towel to dry off afterwards. Registration is required.

5. Make & Take Arts and Crafts
Where/When: A. C. Moore Arts and Crafts, 110 Park Ave., Willow Grove; July 13, 3 to 5 p.m.
Why go: There will be free a Make & Take arts and crafts event for children 2 to 12. On July 13, kids can make Orb Factory Sticky Mosaics Pictures.
