Truck Fire Briefly Ties Up Traffic at Turnpike Last Night

The vehicle fire was put out within minutes, but was enough time to tie up traffic at the Willow Grove Interchange.

 

Willow Grove Fire Company immediately responded to a vehicle fire at the Pennsylvania Turnpike's Willow Grove Toll Booth last night. According to Upper Moreland Fire Marshal, Robert Drennen, the call went out at 8:55 p.m. last night, and quickly brought the vehicle fire was under control.

"It turned out to be a pretty minor fire," Drennen said. "The responders put it out within minutes."

According to Drennen, the vehicle was a commercial dump truck. Traffic at the Willow Grove Interchange resumed back to normal shortly after the incident.
