I know the driver personally, and this is a tragedy. He is the nicest man you would ever meet, and I feel horrible for all parties involved. I would ask that people refrain from holding judgment against him until all the facts come out.

Nice guys dont flee and make police look for them. The nice guy should have pulled over to wait and watch what he was in such a hurry for.

He might be the nicest man, but maybe if he had stopped, maybe a few extra minutes could of made a difference in saving her life.

I also know him personally and he is NOT a nice guy. He has been in numerous accidents because he cares little for others. He has road rage and thought little of the life he took. He is more worried about himself than the poor woman who's life he took with his careless driving.

I did CPR on this woman for 15 mins. She was dead before I gave mybfirst chest compression. Shenwas MANGLED from head to toe. Dont care how nice a person is. the speed limit is still 25 mph on that road. Too many kids in that neighborhood to be driving so fast. He must have been trucking to cause such a result 75 years old or not.

Thank you so much Scott!!! For being such a wondeful person, my family thanks you so much for doing that for my grandmother. She was so full of life and you tried to help her fight for it even though it was obviously lost. Thank you. Thank you for stopping, helping, and careing.

Scott,
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing what you could for my grandmother. It is so wonderful to hear that someone cared enough to stop and try to save her. She was such a wonderful woman, and would be so grateful for your efforts. Thank you.

The funny part is he is STILL driving around care-free even after murdering this woman. She is dead, but he is riding around with the same road rage that caused her to lose her life.

i agree with scott! i have lived on Warminster Rd for over 25 yrs. and quite frankly am completely disgusted with upper moreland and hatboro police deparments! Their lack of enforcing the speed limit has led to many horrific accidents! people that travel warminster rd. are well aware of the speed limit, but they know that it has never been enforced so therefore will continue to speed in excess. HOW MANY MORE PEOPLE NEED TO DIE???? Please slow down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They did nothing to him either. He's still riding around probably worried more about what will happen to HIM than he is about the lady he murdered.

It is a very sad situation for all parties involved: the woman and her family most importantly, the neighbors, the witnesses, the people who know her, the firefighters, EMTs, and officers, and the driver. I know I will be reminded every time I walk out of my house. When I first pulled up to the scene I was frozen in my truck that it might have been one of my kids or the neighbors kids when I saw my house and a few others were roped off for investigation. I did not know the woman but neighbors did. I can't imagine what her family is going through right now, and especially at this time of year. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of those affected by this tragedy, most notably, the woman and her family. I hope people will read this and keep to the speed limits and drive carefully in residential neighborhoods. I didn't see what happened but I know how I feel right now. This could have been anyone. This woman was someone's mother, friend, neighbor, sibling, sister, grandmom, etc. I am so sorry that this happened. I think it would be a good idea for stop signs to be installed on Warminster Rd to remind peeople to slow down. Rarely do people abide by the 25 mph.

Concerned, I couldn't agree with you more! I have lived on Harrison for about six years and I am disgusted with the Hatboro police! Myself, and many neighbors have complained as well as suggest solutions for this problem. These drivers see the light at County line road and Warminster rd turn red and so they make a fast turn on Harrison or Jefferson, fly down the street doing well over 50mph, turn (ignoring the stop sign) onto Corinthian and peel out onto Warminster. Many times cutting off the the cars driving down Warminster. The chief, Gardner, was of no help. He told us that they dont have the manpower to fix the problem and just dont let our kids play in the front of the house. So after enough complaints they painted speed monitor lines and said they would monitor the traffic. We were told that the residents in this neighborhood complain every few years and they stick a car outside a couple times and soon enough everybody stops complaining about for another few years. That is exactly what they did.

This should not happen to anyone! But I have lived here for 30 years and I see the police out here all the time! They even have stopped my daughter. Don't blame the police, blame the drivers who speed. Most of them are likely to live on your street.

They came out 3 times no longer than a few minutes and parked right in the street. Which gives just enough warning for someone to slow down only when they see an officer. On one occasion the mayor sat in a car with an officer and in a half hour they pulled over three people. Is this not enough of an indication that we have a problem? My thoughts and prayers are with this woman and her poor family. Hopefully, the police will use those patrol cars I see sitting at the station all day and help to keep us safe before this happens to one of our loved ones!

Thanks Scott, I know you tried ,I came out with the blankets, you are so brave,
I believe he should have stopped as well. Anyone who drives should know to stop if you hit something, and ecspesially if you think it's a "deer". What was he thinking?
We need to put speed bumps or something on this road, I hear and see too many accidents, the tractor trailers rock my house, I hoped it wouldn't come to this for someone to die, something needs to be done and NOW!!!!!!!!! Whats the world commming to when you can't think of others?

Sidewalks should be put in on that side of Warminster Rd so no one has to walk in the street. Please if you do have to be out in the dark wear something bright so you can be seen.

This was not some "old" lady. She still had a job and belonged to a bowling league. she walked because she liked to walk. Nothing about her was "old". It was not her time. Everyone should slow down - especially at dusk!

Agreed Caroline-we were close to her and her family-she had more energy then most and it was not her time. My mom was killed the same way on 11/24/08 in Abington on HIghland and Horace near the Cancer center, She was working also at the Hospital for Abington Medical Specialist and they said she was old, she was a young 80! These ladies should be alive and enjoying being grandparents. You cannot even walk anymore.

To the family, My wife and I would like to express our deepest and most heartfelt sympathies on the untimely loss of your loved one. Know that it was a joint effort to try to help you grandmother, from the neighbor who came to get me to the ones who provided us blankets, traffic diversion, and safety. There was also a wonderful nurse who also stopped and helped. As a neighborhood, we all feel this loss and wish your family all the best in the coming Holiday seasons.

Spoke to State Rep. Tom Murt yesterday afternoon. His office had no idea about the accident Friday evening. Told me that Warminster Rd. is not a state road so he has no jurisdiction. Told me to contact Hatboros district manager. Warminster Rd. is shared by both Upper Moreland and Hatboro municipalities so the two district managers will have to decide on how to handle things. If I get nowhere, I go to whatever the next level is. I am not going to see this this happen again and anyone who knows me knows I am not one who gives up til I get what I want. I hope I have everyones support.

My neighbors witnessed this tragedy . Called 911 as soon as she was hit and then Taia ,who is a nurse , immediately went to the women and began CRP . She stayed with that women doing all she could untill fire rescue arrived. It was nice of Scott to assist Taia in her efforts after working alone on the victim for at least 10 mins. . She is a remarkable nurse and hopefully for the family some solace to know your loved one was cared for as soon as she was hit and by one of the finest nurses I know .My prayers are with the family at this time and my thoughts are with the Curran family who did a wonderfull job , both at the scene and at the police station afterwards offering their eye witness account . Its nice to know there are good people in this world !

That man needs to be prosecuted for his crime. He SHOULD NOT be allowed to get away with it.
