Upper Moreland Student of the Month: Nicholas Barber

The Upper Moreland School District honored the Student of the Month in October.

 

Upper Moreland High School senior Nicholas Barber received the October Student of the Month Award from Willow Grove Rotary President, Mr. John Douglass. 

The Student of the Month award is sponsored by the High School’s faculty and the Willow Grove Rotary Club to highlight student excellence and service.

Nicholas is the President of the National Honor Society, a Senior Class Officer, and the Secretary of the Key Club. Nicholas has achieved Distinguished Honor Roll throughout High School, and is in the top 5% of his class. Nicholas is currently enrolled in Advanced Placement (AP) Calculus, AP Physics, AP English, AP United States Government & Politics, and AP European History. He is a member of the Marching Band and Debate Club. 

Outside of school, Nicholas is active in the Boy Scouts, and he will achieve the rank of Eagle Scout this November. Nicholas plans to attend Drexel University, Lafayette College or the University of Pittsburgh next year, double-majoring in physics and chemistry, in pursuit of a Ph.D. in planetary geology.
