Viewfinder: 32nd-Annual Lions Club of Willow Grove Auto Show

This year's "Cool Cars in the School Yard" summer opening auto show of the Wilow Grove Lions Club featured historical lessons from recent U.S. History as well as over 150 classic, antique and next generation cars and motorcycles.

The late Don Magee’s 1960 Cadillac Convertible. A longtime participant of the Lions Club of Willow Grove “Cool Cars in the School Yard” auto show, Magee’s memory was honored with this year’s first Magee Memorial Best Stock Car in Show award.

The Lions Club of Willow Grove's 32nd-annual "Cool Cars in the School Yard" auto show took place in the Upper Moreland School District complex on June 9, from 3 - 9 p.m.

It just occurred to me. In the opening sequence to the long-running animated series, "The Simpsons," baby Maggie Simpson is seen in the car with her mom driving, however, Maggie also has a steering wheel in the front seat of the car. I always wondered where the cartoonists got that idea, and I think Alan Eickhoff's 1950s "Kiddie Drivette" (pic #15) may hold the answer.
