Have you ever wondered who staffs the fire trucks in Upper Moreland? Well, let me tell you. Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. we are lucky to have five dedicated career firefighters manning our station and protecting out township.
The rest of the time, we are protected by a group of dedicated volunteer firefighters and fire police officers.
Not only do we respond to the emergency situations, but we do various other community service details. We go to parades, block parties, birthday parties, and even will come
out to your house to check your smoke detectors if you so wish.
We have helped out the local scout organizations with their safety badges, given CPR classes and fire extinguisher training to local businesses, and guided tours of the fire house.
In the near future, we will be launching a recruitment program. This program is aimed at informing the residents of Upper Moreland what services we provide, as well as what it takes to become a member of the Willow Grove Volunteer Fire Company.
