Students and staff get the inside scoop on engineering careers

Hatboro-Horsham High School students recently spent lunch period learning about the many and varied careers available to engineers. The school’s Lunch & Learn series featured presentations by two engineering executives whose companies are involved with high profile engineering project around the world.

Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education is linked to our nation's future prosperity. November’s Lunch & Learn was designed to inform and excite students about careers in engineering. Leading the discussion was Eric D. Frary, Vice President of Baker, a leading Engineering firm, and Mike Dynan, Vice President of Schramm, Inc. They discussed the broad range of opportunities available to civil and mechanical engineers. Schramm, a global supplier to the hydraulic drill industry provided a hydraulic drill for the presentation.

Lunch & Learn is sponsored by Hatboro-Horsham High School and the Greater Horsham Chamber of Commerce. Each month, an industry is featured and professionals in the field share their work and explain employment opportunities. The series will conclude with a Summer Job Fair for Teens. Students will receive pointers on conducting a job search and companies and organization hiring for the summer will attend the March fair.
