Expect Delays on Route 611

Traffic may be reduced to one lane at times this week.

Traffic will periodically be reduced to one lane in either direction as construction continues on the Pennsylvania Turnpike's mainline bridge over Route 611 in Upper Moreland Township.

Drivers should expect delays and single lanes of travel through Friday during the hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the overhead bridge work zone, which is located between Maryland and Wyandotte roads, approximately 500 feet south of the on/off ramps to the Willow Grove Interchange. Motorists are urged to obey posted speed limits and use extra caution when approaching all work areas.

The contractor has tentatively scheduled an overnight closure and detour of Easton Road, between Fitzwatertown and West Mill roads, for Sept. 14 (from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.) to place steel beams on the overhead bridge.
