Get Out

Summer officially kicked off Tuesday! What better way to celebrate everyone's favorite season than by getting out to some great local activities?

We’ve got a selection of community events for you below:

 

1.

Find out what's happening in Upper Moreland-Willow Grovewith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Where/When: , Community Room, 315 York Road, Willow Grove; June 23, 4 to 8 p.m.

Why go: The Upper Moreland Revitalization Task Force will hold an open house to discuss the relocation of the Willow Grove Rail Station one block south to Davisville Road. The public is invited to attend to provide ideas about the future of the station.

2.

Where/When: Otto’s Brauhaus, 233 Easton Road, Horsham; June 26, 4 to 7 p.m.

Why go: A different twist on Elvis will benefit the Lions Club's efforts in eyesight preservation.

Pricing: $10

Where/When: Willow Grove Bible Church, 212 Everett Ave., Willow Grove; June 24, 8 p.m. to midnight

Why go: The church hosts a night of tunes, coffee, goodies and art, featuring music by Outside the Blue, a straight-ahead rock band out of Southampton.

Pricing: Free

Where/When: Huntingdon Valley Christian Academy, 1845 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley; June 26, noon to 4 p.m.

Why go: The church will hold a white elephant/rummage sale with clothing, toys, books, household items, electronics and more. Donations are welcome.

Pricing: Free

 

5.

Where/When: Pennypack Ecological Restoration Trust, 2955 Edge Hill Road, Huntingdon Valley; June 28, 8 to 10 p.m.

Why go: Experience a spectacular display of “nature’s fireworks” on a guided evening walk. You’ll learn all about fireflies, their habitat and their bioluminescence. Proceeds benefit the PERT Visitor’s Center.

Pricing: $3 adults, $2 children, free members. S’mores $1.
