Why go: In honor of the “Maize Moon,” take a walk through Pennypack Preserve under the full moon, and enjoy some popcorn and s’mores by the campfire. Don’t forget your flashlight. Pre-registration is required.

Where/When: Spring Mountain Ski Area, 757 Spring Mount Road, Schwenksville; Aug. 14
Why go: Are you a warrior? This is not your average run. The Spring Mountain Warrior race will crown (and award a substantial cash prize to) the runner with the best time, without penalties. Runners must be in excellent physical condition, run uphill, have good balance, be able to do multiple sets of pull-ups and complete the Control Freak Canopy Tour training session.
Pricing: $195 (includes $95 competition fee and $100 training session)

Why go: Upper Moreland presents the Young Rembrandts – Drawing Camp summer workshop, for children ages 5 to 7. Campers will read a different Eric Carle book each day, with a drawing lesson coinciding with each book.
