Giant Customers Help Raise over $460,000 to help Fight Hunger

Fall Bag Hunger in-store campaign raises $463,202 for regional and local food banks.

To round out Hunger Action Month, GIANT Food Stores and MARTIN’S Food Markets announced a donation of $463,202 to fight hunger throughout its operating areas as a result of the companies’ annual fall Bag Hunger campaign.

During the two-week in-store campaign, Aug. 28 – Sept. 10, customers were able to donate $1 at the checkout to benefit their local food bank.

“The fight against hunger is an ongoing one for many families in our community,” said Jeff Beaulieu, vice president of sales and merchandising. “Because of the overwhelming support of our customers and associates through in-store campaigns like Bag Hunger, we are able to provide our regional and local food bank partners with thousands more meals to help our neighbors who are most in need.”
