Kindergarteners to Join Seniors in Making Hand Puppets for Kids

Young patients at Shriners' Hospital, along with children and their guardians in South Africa, will be the recipients of the hand-made sock puppets.

Today residents of Wesley Enhanced Living Upper Moreland, along with kindergarteners from Children of America Childcare Center of Warminster, will craft together at the retirement community to make hand puppets (sock puppets) for kids near and far.

Half of the puppets will be sent to young patients at Shriner’s Hospital, and the remaining puppets will be sent to Clowns Without Borders South Africa which has a curriculum that uses them to connect guardians and children together through play.

They are also developing a program in Cape Town for parents in order to reduce child maltreatment and will incorporate the puppets into the curriculum.
