Every Thursday, Patch will run a new weekly feature called "Patch Picks," highlighting editor and reader picks of great local businesses, destinations, services, organizations, ways to spend a day off and more.

This week's list: Summer Camps sponsored by Upper Moreland Parks and Recreation

● 2011 Teen Trex Camp

• Dates:  Monday - Friday, June 20 - Aug. 4 (Seven weeklong sessions)
• Time: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
• Ages: Entering grades seven to nine
• Location: Pileggi Park Soccer Clubhouse/Fridays meet at the UM Primary School.
• Description: This camp is a safe place for teenagers to join their friends and have some fun. Exciting trip destinations will be sure to keep teens happy and busy.
• Fee: $185 (residents)/$225 (nonresidents) per week—discount available if paid by June 10.
• Registration: Begins April 12. Special registration forms will be available at Parks and Recreation office March 31.

●  Little Bear Camp

• Dates:  Six sessions, June 20 - July 28
• Time: 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
  
• Ages: 3 - 8
• Location: The pavilions at Masons Mill Park
• Description: Each weeklong session offers games, storytelling, arts and crafts, and special events.
• Fee: $85 (residents)/ $115 (nonresidents) per weekly session—discount available if paid by June 10.
• Registration: Begins April 12. Special registration forms are available at Parks and Recreation office March 31.

● Paw Prints Sports Day Camp: Football 

• Dates: June 20 - 24 
• Time: 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (25 hours total)
• Ages: Entering grades five to nine
• Location: Upper Moreland Middle School grounds
• Description: Morning sessions focus on offense positions, including offensive linemen, running backs, quarterbacks and receivers. Afternoon sessions will focus on defensive positions, including defensive linemen, linebackers and defensive backs. Campers will also participate in seven-on-seven games and mini games. At the culmination of the camp, a Pass, Punt and Kick Champion, and team champion will be named.

• Fee: $145 (residents)/$195 (nonresidents) per week—$10 discount available if paid by June 10
• Registration: On a first-paid basis with cash or check at the Parks and Recreation Office

● 2011 Supervised Playground Program

• Dates:  Monday - Friday, June 20 - Aug. 5 
• Time: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
• Ages: Entering grades two to eight
• Location: Primary (second and third grades); Intermediate (fourth and fifth grades); Middle (sixth to eighth grades)
• Description: Trips, arts and crafts, sports, swimming
• Fee: $750 for residents only
• Extended Care: 4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. daily ($150 for the entire seven weeks)
• Additional Trips: Two extra trips per group—$30 each additional trip
• Registration: Begins April 11. at 8:30 a.m. at the township building. Proof of residency at registration is requested. Forms will be available March 31.

● Paw Prints Sports Day Camp: Baseball

• Dates: July 18 - 22
• Time: 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (25 hours total)
• Ages: Entering grades five to nine
• Location: Upper Moreland Middle School grounds
• Description: Morning sessions will focus on overall station drills and skill-building activities. Afternoon sessions will focus on position drills and skills. Also, a tournament will take place Friday.

• Fee: $145 (residents)/$195 (nonresidents) per week—$10 discount available if paid by June 10.
• Registration: On a first-paid basis with cash or check at the Parks and Recreation Office.
