The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is advising motorists that construction work on the Turnpike mainline bridge that crosses over Jolly Road in Whitpain Township will continue Monday morning July 11.

On the Northeastern Extension (I-476) motorists should be prepared for bi-directional single lane closures to be in effect overnight Monday, July 11, at 9 p.m. during the bridge demolition work. The right lane will be closed southbound at 9 p.m. and northbound at 10 p.m. between milepost A22-A24 until the patterns are lifted at 6 a.m. Tuesday morning. All construction activities on the Turnpike and local roads are weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change.

Traffic restrictions remain in effect on I-476, and motorists are urged to stay alert for slow-moving traffic and obey the posted speed limits. Please note that the speed limit through the entire construction zone (Mid-County Interchange to MP 26) is reduced to 55 miles-per-hour (mph) 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Additionally, 40 mph posted speed limit signs will be activated during single-lane closures when construction workers are not working behind barrier or when construction vehicles are entering and exiting the Turnpike from designated construction entrances.

To better plan ahead, Turnpike motorists can get real-time information about roadway conditions via the Turnpike Roadway Information Program, or "TRIP," by visiting www.paturnpike.com or calling 1-866-976-TRIP (8747). Officials advise motorists headed for the Turnpike to check out conditions before they leave.

In case of an accident, breakdown or other emergency, motorists can dial *11 or 1-800-332-3880 to receive aid. Be prepared to give your milepost location and direction of travel, and move the involved vehicles out of active travel lanes if possible.
