Second Alarmers' Carnival Returns for More Community Fun

The second annual Second Alarmers Rescue Squad Carnival fundraiser will take place from Tuesday through Saturday at Crestmont Park.

The second annual Second Alarmers Rescue Squad’s spring carnival will return to Crestmont Park, located at Reservoir Ave. and Old Welsh Road, across from the Willow Grove Park Mall, Tuesday through Saturday.

This community event, which attracted thousands from all over the Delaware Valley, will feature thrill rides, carnival games, delicious food, live entertainment and more.

Come on out and have some funnel cake or take a spin on the Merry Go Round. For those who are more daring, take a ride on the brand new Round Up, Scrambler or the infamous ‘Ring of Fire’. A family ride called ‘Charlie Chopper’ will amaze riders. This first of its kind helicopter ride, which combines high flying fun and technology.

  • 6 to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights;
  • 6 to 11 p.m. on Friday night,
  • and Noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday.

There will be ALL NEW SPECIAL PRICING available all week. The price of ride tickets has been lowered to $ .75 per ticket, $18.00 for 25 tickets, and $50.00 for 70 tickets. The Second Alarmers Carnival will offer a $20 wristband giving unlimited rides on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Discounted pre-show wristbands can be purchased during regular business hours at the Second Alarmers Willow Grove Station for $15.00. The station is located at 307 Davisville Rd., Willow Grove. Purchase must be made before May 6.

In celebration of 75 years of service to the community, Second Alarmers Rescue Squad will host a Fire Muster on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This ‘FREE to the public’ historic display of antique fire and ambulance equipment will feature an exhibit of up to 50 vehicles. These vehicles will be competing for prizes in specific categories as well as the best overall appearing apparatus. Money raised from this event will benefit the Second Alarmers Association and Rescue Squad of Montgomery County. Monies raised from this event will go towards replacing the life saving LifePack Heart Monitors and Defibrillators and future expansion of the Willow Grove Station. Since it’s founding in 1938, Second Alarmers Association and Rescue Squad of Montgomery County, Incorporated has grown to become one of the largest private not-for-profit pre-hospital Emergency Medical Service (Ambulance Service) providers in the region, responding to over 12,000 emergency 911 incidents each year. Second Alarmers Rescue Squad is a combination department composed of over 225 volunteer and career members, delivering service from five stations with 22 vehicles, including twelve advanced life support ambulances.

Second Alarmers Rescue Squad provides these crucial life saving Emergency Medical and Rescue Services to the over 130,000 residents, in the 55,371 households of the 56.68 square mile area of Abington, Upper Dublin, Upper Moreland and Whitpain Townships as well as the Boroughs of Hatboro, Jenkintown and Rockledge. Second Alarmers is also the primary contracted EMS Company for 15 miles of the Pennsylvania Turnpike from the Willow Grove Inter-change.
