Upper Moreland High School Hosts KenCrest Prom

The organization serves those with developmental disabilities.

KenCrest held its 11th annual prom for people with developmental disabilities on Saturday at the Upper Moreland High School gym. More than 325 people showed up for the party.

Upper Moreland Post Prom Chairwoman Moureen Wenik said last week that the high school’s post prom party has been happening for more than 50 years, adding that it’s a longstanding tradition in the community. Following the post prom party on Friday, the Philadelphia-themed decorations stayed up for the KenCrest prom the following day.

In its 108th year, KenCrest serves more than 8,000 children, youth and adults with developmental disabilities at 350 site locations in the five-county Philadelphia region and the state of Delaware each year.
