No Experience Needed!

Hatboro, Pa September 22, 2011 -- Ever have a secret desire to be in the spotlight? Do you have a yearning to act in a play? Are you just itching to perform in front of a live audience? However, you didn't know how to go about it? Well, now here is your chance. The Village Players of Hatboro will be holding open auditions for the zany comedy, "Four Wedding and An Elvis" by local playwright Nancy Frick. The playhouse is a local, community, nonprofit organization dedicated to the performing arts for over 60 years. All work is voluntary.

“Four Weddings and An Elvis” takes place in a tacky wedding chapel in Las Vegas. The show consists of four different weddings. Each couple is getting married for all sorts of crazy reasons. Each ceremony is one act of the play with most of the characters returning for the final wedding.

The auditions are open to anyone. No experience is needed. In fact, first timers are encouraged to try out for the show. Many of our productions feature actors in their debut performances. If you're looking for a place to get your foot in the door for some theater experience, this is the place. Mark your calendars, auditions will be held on Sunday, October 9th and Monday October 10th at 7:00 p.m. The following folks are needed:

9 males between 25 - 70

4 females between 20 – 55

 * There is one very small role with a limited amount of dialogue. This role can be either gender. This is perfect for someone just starting out.

PLEASE! NO ELVIS IMPERSONATORS!!!

No monologues. No experience needed. First time actors are warmly welcome. Production runs three weekends in January 2012.  Auditions will be a cold read from the script. Rehearsals will begin in December.

If you are looking to get experience in other areas of theater: set construction, lights and sounds, props, make-up, etc., all volunteers are welcome. The best part is that no prior experience is needed! You'll get hands on training.

The Village Players of Hatboro is located in residential Hatboro at 401 Jefferson Avenue. The theater is situated between Jacksonville and Warminster Roads near County Line Road.
