No Experience Needed!

Hatboro, Pa February 29, 2012 -- Ever have a secret desire to be in the spotlight? Do you have a yearning to act in a play? Are you just itching to perform in front of a live audience? However, you didn't know how to go about it? Well, now here is your chance. The Village Players of Hatboro will be holding open auditions for the zany comedy, "Plaza Suite” by Neil Simon.

The playhouse is a local, community, nonprofit organization dedicated to the performing arts for over 60 years. All work is voluntary.

Neil Simon’s “Plaza Suite” consists of three one act comedies involving a young couple, whose relationship is on the rocks, a couple attempting to relive their youth, and a couple dealing with their daughter who has locked herself in the bathroom on her wedding day. The entire play is set in the New York Plaza Hotel.

The auditions are open to anyone. No experience is needed. In fact, first timers are encouraged to try out for the show.

Many of our productions feature actors in their debut performances. If you're looking for a place to get your foot in the door for some theater experience, this is the place. Mark your calendars, auditions will be held on Sunday, March 25 and Monday March 26 at 7:30 p.m. The following folks are needed:

6 males between ages 25 - 55

5 females between ages 20 – 55

No monologues. No experience needed. First time actors are warmly welcome. Production runs three weekends in June 2012 starting Friday the 8th. Auditions will be a cold read from the script. Rehearsals will begin in March. The rehearsal schedule will be determined on cast availability.

If you are looking to get experience in other areas of theater: set construction, lights and sounds, props, make-up, etc., all volunteers are welcome. The best part is that no prior experience is needed! You'll get hands on training.

The Village Players of Hatboro is located in residential Hatboro at 401 Jefferson Avenue. The theater is situated between Jacksonville and Warminster Roads near County Line Road.
