Sunday Cinema

Upper Moreland Public Library will host a foreign film screening and discussion, on the third Sunday of every month, led by Maurizio Giammarco, Ph.D., instructor at Temple University in the Intellectual Heritage Program.

On April 17, Mother (Korean, rated R) will be shown at 2 p.m. The film has a running time of 129 minutes.

Mother is a devoted single parent to her simple-minded 27-year-old son, Do-joon. One night, while walking home drunk, he encounters a school girl, whom he follows for a while before she disappears into a dark alley. The next morning she is found dead in an abandoned building, and Do-joon is accused of her murder. An inefficient lawyer and apathetic police force result in a speedy conviction. Mother undertakes her own investigation to find the girl's killer, resulting in chaos and shocking revelations.
