A vacant retail store will be transformed into a craft beer, food and entertainment  Mecca for the inaugural Willow Grove Craft Beer Festival on Sunday, June 3.  The event, scheduled to take place from 12 to 5 p.m., will be held at the Plaza at Willow Grove Park, 2500 Moreland Road (Next to Dick's Sporting Goods) inside the former Ross Dress for Less. The craft beer festival serves as a fundraiser event for Willow Grove Community Services Inc. — a nonprofit organization which provides social service programs and assistance in the greater Willow Grove area for at-risk children, military veterans and needy individuals and families.

Sponsored by Goodman Properties and Gretz Beer, this exciting event was created to unite beer lovers, who have an appetite for unique and delicious microbrewed beers from around the globe. More than 40 local, national and international breweries will come together and serve up over 100 different dynamic and robust microbrewed beers from five different categories, including new to market, local, leading craft, international favorites and hottest new products.

In addition to the plethora of great beers that will be on tap, the festival will have several featured theme areas that will provide entertainment and fun for attendees. Scheduled activities include raffles, contests and the chance to perfect the Stella Artois 9-step pouring ritual.

The Willow Grove Craft Beer Festival was the brainchild of the Willow Grove VFW and Willow Grove Community Services Inc., who came together to develop a local craft beer event that would raise money to support the non-profit’s mission.

“The Willow Grove Craft Beer Festival will support a truly deserving organization  in its commitment  to area veterans and families who are experiencing hard times, while simultaneously celebrating the vision and passion that goes into craft beer making,” explained  Event Organizer Michael Brookshire.

Tickets for the festival can be purchased prior to the event for $35, and for $45 at the door.
