A Willow Grove man has been charged in the shooting death of a South Jersey man.

A 23-year-old Willow Grove man is behind bars for allegedly shooting to death a New Jersey man he lured to Philadelphia through a Craiglist ad, according to ABC 6.

Thomas Coffee, of the 1900 block of Lukens Avenue in Upper Moreland Township, was arrested Sunday by the Philadelphia Police Department for murder and related offenses stemming from the shooting death of Daniel Cooke, 27, of Williamstown, N.J., according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Coffee, who had been arrested in 2009 for burglary and twice thereafter for armed robbery, according to the Inquirer, allegedly used a Craigslist ad for the sale of an all-terrain vehicle to lure Cooke to the West Oak Lane section of Philadelphia Friday around 11 p.m.

Cooke sustained gunshots on the left side of his face and was pronounced dead at 11:23 p.m. Friday, according to NBC10.

Law enforcement authorities said Cooke was robbed during the altercation with Coffee, according to NBC10.

The victim was accompanied by his girlfriend and a friend, who were not injured during the shooting.

A Philadelphia Police spokeswoman told Patch on Monday that Coffee would likely not be eligible for bail.

Michael - I left the same comment on the FB post. In thinking about it - it does matter more than I thought. I would prefer to keep Willow Grove - UPPER MORELAND Township out of the negative news. Thanks for bringing it up on this page.

Crime is crime. It happens to all people all over the world. News should be reported from all areas of the world so that realistic expectations are managed! When people think, "it can't happen here" they leave their homes unlocked, walk alone at night, leave car doors unlocked, or let children play unsupervised. We live in turbulent times where there is little accountability for moral judgments and the fruit of that.. "anything goes and anything happens" is exactly what we read. Keep reporting the news Patch.. the good AND the bad.
