Giant and Martin's Mark Record Donations for Children This Holiday Season

Annual Children's Miracle Network Hospitals campaign raises more than $585,000

During this season of giving, customers and associates at Food Stores and MARTIN’S Food Markets had an opportunity to support organizations that improve the lives of children. A record total of $586,628 was raised during the annual “Candles for Kids” in-store holiday campaign in support of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

“One of GIANT/MARTIN’S core charitable giving missions is improving the quality of life for children and this holiday season we were proud to again partner with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, an organization that shares our passion for this cause,” said Rick Herring, president. “Thank you to our customers, associates and vendors who opened up their hearts and wallets to support the youngest residents of our communities this year.”

From Nov. 27 – Dec. 11, customers had an opportunity to purchase a paper candle at the checkout for a $1 donation in support of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals as part of GIANT/MARTIN’S annual “Candles for Kids” campaign. In the past 15 years, GIANT/MARTIN’S has raised more than $25 million to support seven Children’s Miracle Network hospitals across its marketing area.
