Local Hospitals Ranked Among 'Best Hospitals in America'

Every year in July, US News and World Report releases its Best Hospitals in America list.

The rankings include analysis of 4,806 hospitals. Of those, 147 US hospitals are ranked nationally and another 591 are ranked as regional performers. Another 18 qualify for US News and World Report's Honor Roll.

Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, is ranked 28 in Pennsylvania and 12 in the Philadelphia metro area. The hospital has high performing specialties in diabetes & endocrinology, geriatrics, gynecology, and urology.

Einstein Medical Center, with a location in Philadelphia and East Norriton, is ranked 33 in Pennsylvania and 15 in the Philadelphia metro area, with high performing specialties in nephrology and urology.

Two of the region's specialty hospitals received national rankings.

Fox Chase Cancer Center, which is ranked 11 in Pennsylvania and 7 in the Philadelphia metro area, is also ranked 30th nationally in cancer care, with high-performing specialities in gynecology, nephrology, and urology.

Moss Rehab, an Einstein Hospital, is ranked 12 in Pennsylvania and 8 in the Philadelphia metro area. It is also ranked 9th nationally in rehabilitation care.

Two Philadelphia area hospitals also made the Honor Roll list. The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania placed 11th, while Thomas Jefferson University Hospital was ranked 17th.
