The SIMA Excellence in Business Award is given annually to a company that has demonstrated success in business practices, professional relationships, personal experiences, and affiliation with SIMA. Applicants fill out an extensive application which is then reviewed by a panel of judges knowledgeable in the snow and ice industry. Applications include questions on business and safety practices, customer and community relations, and personal experiences in snow and ice management.
The SIMA Safety Award is presented to companies with a strong focus on safety. Applicants submit an entry form, safety program checklist, applicable OSHA forms, and details about safety training classes, which are then reviewed and approved by SIMA. Applicants must also submit specific company information including number of snow/ice events, number of injuries/accidents, and number of property damages for the past years’ snow season.
