Snapshot: Colonial American Bank Asks for Coats

Horsham-based Colonial American Bank holds a winter-coat drive for students in Philadelphia.

is currently hosting a winter coat drive that will benefit students at John B. Stetson Middle School in Philadelphia.

Ginny Lafratta, Colonial American Bank branch operations manager, helped promote the coat drive at the bank. She said that her son, a teacher at Stetson Middle School, noticed that some of his students did not come to school with proper winter attire, and wanted to help.

“The thought of kids not having coats and sweaters – it’s unbelieveable,” Lafratta said. “And, it makes us feel grateful for what we do have.”

“Our customers know we want to be involved,” Kevin Gehring, Colonial American Bank banking office manager, said.

Last year, including projects through its partnership with America Responds with Love, Colonial American Bank has supported Philabundance, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and other local nonprofits.

“This is so grassroots,” Gehring said, describing the community outreach efforts of the bank. “And, we’re hands-on with it.”
