Robert Loftlin, Woodforest National Bank Upper Moreland branch manager, told Patch. He said the event is a great way for Woodforest Bank to give back to the community it serves.
“And, it’s a great way to donate to those who don’t have and serve them, as well.”
According to Loftlin, aside from marking the fourth anniversary of the branch in Upper Moreland, the goal of the bank’s Community Day is to raise funds for the bank’s charitable organization, the “Woodforest Charitable Foundation.”
This nonprofit organization, according to the Woodforest Charitable Foundation website, is committed to, “making an effective and positive change in communities, by providing funding for other nonprofit charities. The foundation typically chooses charities that focus on social-service programs within communities that Woodforest National Bank serves.
In the greater Willow Grove area, such charities that benefited from the foundation include: Philabundance, Central PA Food Bank and Chester County Food Bank.
“Our goal for that day is $3,000 for the [foundation], which has never been done in one day by a branch,” Loftlin said.
