MCAP is making significant upgrades to the interior, including the main lobby, lounge and common areas.  Each studio apartment (and deluxe suite) is being refreshed, and all private bathrooms are being fully renovated.  The company plans to undertake extensive landscaping to enhance the entrance and to maximize the natural beauty of Willow Lake, which sits directly behind the community.

Additionally, MCAP is developing Safe Harbor, a new, dedicated memory care unit on the first floor of The Landing at Willow Grove, which is expected to open in 2014.  This neighborhood will offer a safe and nurturing environment to deliver specialized services for those with dementia and other memory-related disorders.

The Landing at Willow Grove will continue to offer affordable, individualized, assisted personal care services for those needing some level of assistance with daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, personalized laundry services, housekeeping services, and daily medication monitoring services, if needed.  In addition, residents enjoy a daily schedule of activities and social opportunities, exercise and wellness programs, nutritious meals, 24-hour staffing, and an emergency call system. The community also offers respite services designed to give caregivers a much deserved break.

“We are excited for this new chapter to begin for our community,” said Renee Ackerman, executive director at The Landing at Willow Grove.  “We are all enjoying a renewed sense of energy and enthusiasm as these fantastic changes start to take place.  Our management team will benefit from the experience and success of MCAP, and our residents will benefit from the increased investments the company is making in services, our building, and our beautiful grounds.  It is a great step forward for all.”

The Landing at Willow Grove is located just 20 miles north of Philadelphia, convenient to the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Route 611. The small, residential town of Willow Grove is situated near many healthcare services, including Abington Memorial Hospital, as well as numerous shopping, dining, and entertainment venues, including the Willow Grove Park Mall.

Founded in 1996, New York-based Municipal Capital Appreciation Partners (MCAP) and its affiliates own and operate over 20 assisted living facilities in four states.  The MCAP funds have invested more than $600 million in the purchase, restructure and development of senior housing, assisted living facilities, affordable housing, and related real estate.
