EASTERN and Rep. Thomas Murt Seek Business and Industry Partnerships to Benefit EASTERN Students

Eastern Center for Arts and Technology (EASTERN) was pleased to partner with Pennsylvania State Representative, Thomas Murt on Friday, May 16 for an Information Exchange session including five EASTERN program instructors and local business and industry representatives in their correlating field. The luncheon for this event was prepared by EASTERN’s Culinary Arts students and sponsored by MileStone Bank.

EASTERN Instructors shared education curricula for five areas of concentration – Construction Technology, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Electrical Technology and Office Management. Local business leaders discussed the attributes and skills needed for a new employee in their business.   Local business partners included Bud DeLaurentis from LJ DeLaurentis & Sons, Denise Burger-Radcliff from Salon on Main, Jason Spatzier from Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Rick Bruder from Bruder Electric, and Robert Johnston from State Farm Insurance.

“I would like to thank Representative Murt, and his Legislative Aide, Bill Dixon, for their work in making this event possible,” said Joe Greb, EASTERN’s Assistant Director.  “We are always looking for new ways to partner with local business and industry in order to offer more opportunities for our students.”

EASTERN is a public school serving students in nine Eastern Montgomery County school districts. Those districts include Abington, Bryn Athyn, Cheltenham, Hatboro-Horsham, Jenkintown, Lower Moreland, Springfield, Upper Dublin and Upper Moreland.
