EASTERN's New Computer and Pad Device Programs for Adults

Eastern Center for Arts and Technology (EASTERN) is launching a number of new short courses designed to provide a basic understanding and skill in the use of personal computing devices such as iPads and iPhones. Mini-courses provide skills in the development of blogs and websites utilizing the popular free program, Word Press, a series exploring Cloud Technology and its security, including pros and cons. And lastly, a course in social networking explore the common programs such as Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter and some you may not be familiar with such as Companyloop and Konnects, will be available to assist with use in your business and personal life.  Courses offerings include:

Microsoft Office 2010 Power Point, Outlook

Learn the basic features and functions of Outlook and PowerPoint.  You will receive tips, tricks and shortcuts to help you work more quickly with these programs.  Windows features also covered.

Blogging & WordPress

Learn to design appeal websites and blogging systems using the free and open source tool, WordPress.  WordPress is used by over 19 percent of the top 10 million websites on the web.  The program features include: numerous themes, plugins, widgets, mobiles, multi-blogging and other features of note.  WordPress makes sharing content and attracting readers to your site a breeze. Whether pushing content to social networks, ensuring that your website is provided in the optimal format to appear at the top of search results the moment you hit publish, or providing visitors the ability to subscribe to specific content sub-feeds in their favorite feed reader (or even via e-mail).
