Patch Poll: Best Coffee Spot

Patch is looking to you to help decide this week's patch poll - where's your favorite coffee spot?

So, where's the best coffee spot in the Willow Grove area?

Wait, wait - before you answer, consider these qualifications:

  • Potency and flavor variety of the coffee
  • Price of coffee/food
  • And, the all important "atmosphere"

I say atmosphere is important, because the reasons for going to a coffee spot may be completely utilitarian in nature.

Say, for example, your favorite coffee spot is one where you could just get in and get out with a steaming cup of joe. Then your favorite spots might be the Wawa on Moreland Road or the 7-Eleven or Dunkin Donuts , both located on Easton Road.

But what if you wanted a nice, warm place to relax, surft the web and enjoy a crafted special blend? then, your favorite spots might be the Starbucks in the Barnes and Noble Bookstore or perhaps the Weinrich's Bakery Kaffeehaus.

Then again, your primary reason for going to a coffee spot may be for the social atmposhpere and live entertainment. In that case, your favorite coffee spot may be the monthly Fresh Ground Coffee House.

Well, whatever your tastes may be, you can vote for these favorite coffee spots in the Patch Poll below, as well as find and rate these businesses in the Places section of the Upper Moreland Willow Grove Patch website.

What’s that, your favorite neighborhood Coffee Spot wasn’t included in the poll below? Please tell us about it in the comments section below, and we'll add it to the poll right away.

In the event of a tie on our brewing survey, we will break the tie by counting the positive comments written below about the tied businesses. So, don’t be shy, please let us know why you think your choice is best!

Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results and reviews on Patch Places. Please vote only once per survey, per Patch.

Of course FRESH GROUND Coffee House is a little prejudiced, but honored to be included in the poll. We are not retail, so we don't exactly match the others, so vote for us, just because "one of these things is not like the others...." and if you have never been to FRESH GROUND Coffee House, try us out! Here is our line up for the winter/spring: Feb. 24: FGCH PRESENTS: Ft. Washington SCHOOL OF ROCK ALL STAR BAND! March 23: FRESH GROUND Presents: SECOND CHANCE BAND April 27: FRESH GROUND Coffee House Presents: CHRISTIE LENEE PROJECT May 25: FGCH Presents: DAVID COHEN - renowned guitarist! June 22: Clear Approach Jazz Quartet more to come.....

FRESH GROUND COFFEE HOUSE all the way. Local talent is showcase, be it music or art. Great times for kids and adults alike. Terrific place for teens to hang out in a safe and wholesome environment. The coffee- or tea if you want- flows as easily as the conversation with friends. Who needs the retail coffee when once a month we can gather against harsh reality and relax?

FRESH GROUND Coffee House really appreciates your comment, Larry! I have passed it on to the staff - they will be encouraged. This month we are featuring local artist Sharon Wack and the All-Star Band from the Fort Washington School of Rock. Next month, on March 23, we switch up to classic rock with the Second Chance Band. Then, on April 27, we hit another high note with Christie Lenee - singer/songwriter and winner of the Philadelphia songwriting contest and recording artist! Our art feature for March is the triumphant return of Joel Berenbaum, Photographer, and in April we have another favorite artist returning: Sister Mary Em McGlone with her watercolors. See you all then!

Where else can you meet your neighbors, friends and family and enjoy a free cup of "joe"? I don't know. It's more like a living room than any other place you might go to!
