Set in 1959, near New York’s Lake Ontario, Charlene Whitestone has been deserted by her parents and left in the custody of her grandfather C.B. Although he loves Charlie, C.B. is a charming con artist, moonshiner, and religious fraud who inducts her into his various enterprises. Written in a satiric Mark Twain style, The Outcast Oracle is a great read for adults and teenagers.

Laury A. Egan is the author of The Outcast Oracle and the collection, Fog and Other Stories, both published by Humanist Press in 2013, as well as the psychological suspense novel, Jenny Kidd (Vagabondage Press). Two volumes of poetry, Snow, Shadows, a Stranger and Beneath the Lion’s Paw as well as a chapbook, The Sea & Beyond, were issued by FootHills Publishing.

Our lecture series covers a wide variety of subjects. Speakers have come from all the the Delaware Valley, many US states, and even abroad. This event is free of charge and open to the public.

When you enter the library, the meeting will be in the first room on your left - just several yards after the entrance.
