The Pennypack Questers group #1386 and Pennsylvania Questers made a donation of $1,000 at the May 7 Regular Meeting of Upper Moreland Township Commissioners.
Nancy Burman, president of the Pennypack Questers, presented the matching donations of $500 from each organization to president Nick Scull.
“The Questers are committed and dedicated to historic preservation and restoration,” Burman said during the meeting.
According to Burman, there are Questers in throughout the country, each group raising funds and awarding grants every two years to historical organizations that match certain Questers criteria.
The $1,000 grant will go toward restoring a cellar door in the , located in .
According to Scull, the grant marks the third time in which the Questers have donated funds toward the preservation and restoration of Upper Moreland’s last remaining historic farm.
The other two Questers donations helped reconstruct Boileau barn windows and a barn ramp.
The Friends of Boileau is a nonprofit organization, dedicated to the restoration and preservation of the Boileau Farmstead, as well as spreading its historical education.
