Construction on Turnpike Tonight, May 22

The construction on the Pennsylvania Turnpike will create a double-lane patter westbound for motorists traveling between the Delaware Valley and Willow Grove exits.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission has released an advisory, cautioning  motorists traveling westbound on the PA Turnpike (I-276) between the Delaware Valley (Exit #358) and Willow Grove (Exit #343) Interchange to be prepared for a double-lane traffic pattern to be in effect tonight, Tuesday (May 22) from  9 p.m. until 6 a.m. tomorrow morning.

At 9 p.m. construction crews will establish a double-lane pattern westbound, closing the center and right lanes between milepost 353-349 during bridge deck repairs until the pattern is lifted by 6:00 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Motorists should stay alert for slow moving or stopped traffic approaching the Bensalem exit and obey the posted 40 mph speed limit through the work zone. All work is weather permitting and the contractors schedule is subject to change.

Motorists are urged to obey posted 40/55 mph speed limits and use extra caution when approaching all construction zones. Speed limits will be enforced and fines increased.
