Eastern Student of the Month: Bryant Heger

Eastern Center for Arts and Technology Electrical Technology student Bryant Heger will pursue a career in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 126 as an Outside Lineman.

Bryant Heger is the March 2012 Student of the Month at Eastern Center for Arts and Technology () in Willow Grove. He is in his second year of EASTERN’s Electrical Technology program and a senior at Hatboro-Horsham High School.

The Student of the Month Award is sponsored by EASTERN’s faculty, Joint Committee and the Willow Grove Rotary Club to highlight student excellence, success and service. Ten students each year are selected for this honor.

At EASTERN, Bryant maintains an A average in his Electrical Technology program while being active in SkillsUSA as the Electrical Technology 2011 – 2012 Class Treasurer. Bryant represents EASTERN and his Electrical Technology program at recruitment events such as EASTERN’s Career Expo and the Hatboro-Horsham College Fair.

Through his Electrical Technology program, Bryant received his Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10 Construction certification.

At Hatboro-Horsham High School Bryant achieved the honor roll in both the 2009 – 2010 and 2010 – 2011 school years.  He was also a member of the Hatboro-Horsham High School football team from 2008 – 2010. He is currently employed at Giant Food Store in the produce department, and volunteers at the Horsham Fire Company.

After completion of his EASTERN program and graduation from Hatboro-Horsham High School, Bryant plans to pursue a career in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 126 as an Outside Lineman.

EASTERN’s Electrical Technology program teaches the basics of electricity as well as residential and commercial wiring, data cabling and basic fiber optic installation.  This program prepares the student for success in such career fields as residential or commercial electrician, electrical engineering, teaching, computer systems engineering, communications engineering, and development.
