Behind the Assignment - By Alex Pinguli

According to Pinguli, this technique, called "Tilt-Shift Photography," had students captured images fom an elevated point of view. Then, using Photoshop, they used selective blur to capture the narrow depth of field, common in macro photography, Pinguli said in a past Photo of the Week article. He added that the colors in the images were enhanced to reinforce the idea of a miniature landscape.
