Howard Levey, Former Willow Grove Resident and World War II Vet

Levey's funeral service will be Saturday.

Howard Levey, widower of Doris (DeWald) Levey, died Monday, May 20. He was 93.

Levey was the son of the late Lewis and Elizabeth (Schultz) Levey. He was raised in the Tacony and the Mayfair sections of Philadelphia. 

Levey worked at Benxdix Aviation, where he met his wife. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army-Air Force and was kept stateside during World War II; he was sent to Will Rogers Field and then to Boston.

Following the war, Levey and his wife moved to Willow Grove and worked in the heating and air conditioning field. He was a member of the Deep Run Presbyterian Church.

Levey is survived by a daughter, Susan Walter, with whom he lived in Bedminster; a son David of Cockeysville, Md.; a sister, Joyce Conaway; a brother, Richard; and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen; and four brothers, Bill, Lewis, George and Robert. 

A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 25 at 11 a.m. at Deep Run Presbyterian Church in Perkasie. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park.
