Employee Allegedly Steals Thousands in Jerseys from Willow Grove Store

The man allegedly stole some items while the store was closed due to snow.

A Philadelphia man was charged late last month with burglary and felony retail theft after he allegedly stole more than $2,400 worth of sports jerseys from a Willow Grove store.

According to police, Edward Joseph Wisher, 31, of the 2000 block of 16th Street, stole the items from his place of employment, Rally House, in the 2500 block of Moreland Road, on Dec. 10; according to the store's manager, the store was supposed to be closed on Dec. 10 due to a recent snow storm.

The manager reported the alleged theft to police on Dec. 16. According to police, there is video footage of a man, identified as Wisher, placing about 20 items –including Philadelphia Phillies, Eagles and Flyers jerseys – in a bag and leaving the store; Wisher's security code was used to enter the store at about 2:45 p.m., police said.
