Man Convicted for Raping Teenage Girl at Upper Moreland Party

A Philadelphia man was convicted of charges of rape, statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault and corruption of a minor.

Markley Charles, 25, of E. Dorset Street in Philadelphia was charged with raping a passed out 15-year-old girl during a party held in a vacant apartment in Upper Moreland, according to Phillyburbs.com.

According to the story, Assistant District Attorney Jeremy Abidiwan-Lupo said he will seek "significant prison time" for the Philadelphia man.

The charges stem from the incident that took place on Feb. 26, 2012 at the Blair Mill Village Apartments, 3855 Blair Mill Road.

According to the incident report when the crime occured, police found the 15-year-old in the apartment with her pants and underwear inside out. The girl's mother had reported her missing to the police early in the morning.
