On the morning and early afternoon of Feb. 14, the Hatboro and Upper Moreland Police Departments investigated six residential burglaries in the same neighborhood.

On Feb. 16, detectives were conducting surveillance in the area and noticed a male and a female acting suspiciously. Detectives followed the couple and witnessed the male attempting to break into several homes. The couple was arrested and they were found to be in possession of jewelry that would be reported stolen later that day. They were identified as Gerald Sutliff, 26, and Alyssa Czarnecki, 19, of Philadelphia. Police were able to link Sutliff to the burglaries of the six homes on Feb. 14.

Sutliff and Czarnecki were charged with Burglary, Criminal Trespass, Theft, Receiving Stolen Property, and Conspiracy.

Sutliff was arraigned before duty Magistrate Harry Nesbitt who set bail at $100,000.00 cash.
