Fraud

  • On March 4, a resident from the 100 block of Woodlawn Ave. contacted an individual on Craig's List advertising a nanny position. The victim reported that she was in contact with this potential employer for two weeks via e-mail. The "employer" stated he would send her a check for $1,860.00 for "supplies" and a two week advance on her salary. The victim received an envelope with a return address envelope from Branchville, N.J. with a check inside. She was instructed to deposit the check and send a money order back in the amount of $900.00. The victims bank contacted her that the check had bounced and her account was overdrawn by $900.00.

  • March 5, at 3:20 p.m., Mohamed El Abbassi, 36, from the 900 Block of E. Sydney St. in Philadelphia, was stopped by Wal-Mart security, 2101 Blair Mill Road, after he was observed placing items in his coat pocket. El Abbassi paid for items in his cart, but attempted to leave with the items in his coat pocket. Items concealed were valued at $20.00. El Abbassi was cited for retail theft and released.

  • On March 6, at 1:34 a.m., police observed Holbrooks walking east on the sidewalk in front of the Moreland Plaza, 101 Moreland Road, Dustin Holbrooks, 22, from the 2200 Block of Inman Terrace in Willow Grove, appeared to be highly intoxicated and was staggering. Police attempted to get Holbrooks a ride home, but became argumentative. Holbrooks BAC was a .21 percent. Holbrooks was placed under arrest and cited for P.D.

 

Criminal Mischief

  • On March 4, between 11 - 11:30 p.m. Resident from the Blair Mill Apartments, 3855 Blair Mill Road, reported that someone shot out his drier's side window with a BB gun. Resident stated he has no problems with anyone and it was most likely a random occurrence.

 

Vehicle Theft

  • On March 6, at 5:47 p.m. While victim was paying for his gas at the Shell Starwash, 2595 Maryland Road, unknown actor(s) stole his truck while it was parked at the gas pumps. Victim had left his key in the ignition while he went inside to pay for the gas. The vehicle is described as a 2008 Silver Chevrolet Silverado pick-up with an extended cab. The value of the truck is $35,000. The vehicle was entered into NCIC.

 

Attempted Burglary

  • On March 5 - 6, between 1 p.m. - 9:59 a.m. A resident from the 500 block of Woodcrest Road, Willow Grove, found their door knob and dead bolt hanging loose on the rear basement door. No entry was gain into the residence. There were marks on the bottom of the door that appears as if someone had kicked the door.
