Drug Charges

  • On March 15, at 11:07 a.m., police conducted a vehicle stop in the lot of the Wal-Mart parking lot, 2101 Blair Mill Road for exhibiting an expired registration. Upon approach of the vehicle the odor of marijuana was emanating form the vehicle. Officer requested consent to search and the driver, Samuel James Esposito, Jr., 21, of the unit Block of Heather Lane in Horsham, agreed. A small package of marijuana and pipe were located in the vehicle. A pellet gun was also located under the driver's seat. Esposito was cited for Disorderly Conduct, and Possessing a Pellet gun in a public area.
  • On March 18, at 3:20 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a Ford Taurus weaving on Easton Road. While speaking to the driver, Justin Spence, 29, from the 2100 Block of Orthodox St. in Philadelphia, the strong odor of alcohol was detected on his breath. It was determined that Spence also had a suspended driver's license. Spence failed sobriety test and was placed under arrest. Officer returned to the vehicle and spoke with the passenger, Tara Madden, 27, from the 800 Block of Sunflower Ave. in Langhorne, the registered owner of the vehicle and asked her if she permitted Spence to drive her vehicle while he was intoxicated and under suspension. Officer requested Madden to exit the vehicle and a crack pipe fell to the ground. The officer bent over to pick up the pipe and observed a bulge protruding from Madden's spandex pants. This item was drug paraphernalia. Madden was also placed under arrest. While officers were processing Madden, officers observed items protruding from Madden's bra area. Madden removed a clear plastic bag containing marijuana and three CVS prescription bottles with 44 pills. Spence was taken to the hospital for blood and will be charged pending blood results. Madden was charged with the following: Simple Possession, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Small Amount of Marijuana, and Permitting Violation of Title. Madden was later arraigned and was released on 1000/10 percent.

Thefts

  • From March 12 - 11, sometime over the weekend, wheels and tires were stolen from a Cadillac that was returned to the Great Britain's. The manager observed the vehicle up on milk crates when he arrived at work in the morning. The values of the tires are valued at $4000.00.
  • From Mrch 15 - 16, between 11 p.m. - 7 a.m., a resident form the unit blk of Woodlawn had their unlocked vehicle entered overnight. An IPod valued at $250.00 and a lottery ticket was taken.
  • From March 15 - 16, sometime overnight resident from the 300 block of Inman Terrace had their unlocked vehicle entered. $18.00 of coins and currency was taken from the vehicle.
  • On March 18, at 4:56 p.m., police were dispatched to the Giant Food Store, 315 York Road, for a retail theft in progress. It was reported the female left the store. A registration and description of the vehicle she was in was obtained by security. Gail Mahlstedt, 50, from the 1000 Block of Easton Road in Willow Grove, was located at her residence where she admitted to taking vitamins and shampoo without paying for them. Mahlstedt was cited for retail theft and was released.

  • On March 18 at 1:41 p.m., police were dispatched to the 2000 block of Winding Road, for a male changing a tire on a vehicle. Neighbors had been complaining about the vehicle on their street for weeks. They were advised the owner had an active warrant on him and to call police if seen with the vehicle. Police confirmed the warrant and placed Thomas Petersen, 26, from the 300 Block of Summer Ave. in Horsham, under arrest. Montgomery County Sheriffs took custody of Petersen later in the day.
