Thefts

  • On April 25, on 2 p.m., a lawnmower that was for sale outside Sears Hardware, 2170 County Line Rd was stolen. An employee witnessed a male remove a cable that secured a lawnmower that was on display outside. He then, and placed it on the rear of a red pickup truck and left the area. Approximately at 8 p.m., the male returned and attempted to take another lawnmower from the outside display. Employee ran inside to alert police and the male drove off without a lawnmower.
  • On April 25, at 11:30 p.m., James Scipione, 43, from the 400 Block of Renfrew Ave. in Ambler, was cited for retail theft after he placed a $10.13 NY strip steak down his pants, attempting to leave the Giant Food Store, 315 N. York Rd. Scipione was also intoxicated and cited for Public Drunkenness.
  • On April 28, overnight two vehicles on Hideaway Drive and one vehicle on Carlson Dr were broken into overnight.  Two of the vehicles were rummaged through and nothing was taken. One vehicle had $300.00 worth of text books and a calculator stolen. All three vehicles left their doors unlocked. In addition a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox was stolen on the 2200 blk of Carlson Drive. The resident left the vehicle unlocked with the keys inside.
