Residential Oil Spill on Richard Road

An apparent oil delivery mishap has spilled oil into the basement of a Willow Grove home.

According to the Willow Grove Fire Department (WGFD), a heating oil spill occurred in the basement of a home on the 2000 block of Richard Road in Willow Grove, at approximately 11:08 a.m. today.

WGFD stated that an apparent malfunction occurred while an oil delivery truck was making its delivery into the home. It is not yet clear as to how the apparent malfunction occurred.

Initial reports estimated 200 gallons of oil is to have spilled into the basement. According to the WGFD, the oil company has dispatched its own hazmat crews, with WGFD on hand to ensure appropriate measures are taken for enviornmental considerations.
