UPDATE: Sunoco Robbery Suspects Sought

After briefly detaining two subjects that fit the description of the alleged Sunoco victim this afternoon, police found that the reports were false.

According to Upper Moreland Police, the victim who reported to police on being robbed by suspects at a Sunoco gas station, at Warminster and County Line roads, earlier this afternoon, turned out to be a false report.

The alleged victim told police that he had been beaten and robbed by two Hispanic males. According to police, the K9 units and patrol officers from multiple jurisdictions assisted in the search for the suspects, resulting in the brief detaining of two subjects, per the alleged victim's descriptions.

"The victim lied about the entire incident and has been arrested for making a false report to the police and ethnic intimidation for blaming two Hispanic males for a fabricated crime," Upper Moreland Police chief Thomas Nestel said in a Nixle report. "Thank you for your help and my apologies for alarming you."

According to police, the alleged victim is now in police custody.

Upper Moreland Police reported two suspects wanted in a robbery of a Sunoco mini-mart, located at Warminster and County Line roads in Hatboro.

The suspects were reported to have robbed the Sunoco patron early this afternoon.

The suspects are described as Hispanic males, wearing t-shirts and shorts, and are believed to be 18-20 years old. Police report that the pair fled on foot, and are presently being tracked by K9 units from Warminster and Abington Townships.
