UMPD: Robber Shot and Killed During Home Burglary

Two burglars entered the home of a Warminter police officer Monday morning. One of the burglars was shot and killed while the other fled in the victim's car.

UPDATE (10:37 a.m.): The Honda Odyssey being sought that was stolen during a burglary in NW Philadelphia has been found.

The incident occurred at the home of a Warminster police officer, and that was the reason for the update issued to surrounding areas with help in locating the car.

Original article (9:46 a.m.): The Upper Moreland Police Department released an update this morning through Nixle.com, the public notification service for local police departments, informing residents of a home robbery on Monday morning.

According to the statement from Chief Thomas Nestel, two burglars broke into a house in Northwest Philadelphia and the occupant of the house shot and killed one of the burglars. The other burglar fled in the victim’s car, a 2001, grey, Honda Odyssey.
