UPDATE: A Day at the Polls

Upper Moreland Patch went around the polls today asking voters about their views on elections and township issues.

Starting around lunchtime today and ending at 6 p.m., Upper Moreland Patch went to several polling spots to ask voters and candidates why it is important to participate in today's primary elections.

Of the seven township wards and their 14 different polling locations, Upper Moreland Patch picked Wards 3 and 4 out of a hat, and visited their respective district polling sites. 

Polls opened at 7 a.m. and closed at 8 p.m. tonight.

Upper Moreland Commissioners' Primary Race

Since both township candidates for each of the contested wards (2, 4, 6) are on different party affiliations, they will both go on to the general elections.

Ward 2:

  • Shone Fix (R) - 66 votes
  • Kevin Spearing (D) - 61 votes

Ward 4

  • Joe Lavalle (R) - 85 votes
  • Dan Denslow (D) - 60 votes

Ward 6

  • Sam Valenza (R) - 235 votes
  • Susan Worth-LaManna (D) - 107 votes

 

School Board Directors' Race

  • April Stainback - 226 votes (14.62 percent)
  • Roger Wolfman - 173 votes (11.19 percent)
  • Lisa Berlin - 224 votes (14.49 percent)
  • Mark Wenik - 179 votes (11.58 percent)
  • Duval Dougherty - 129 votes (8.34 percent)
  • Nicholas Scull - 167 votes (10.80 percent)
  • Georgette Daouphars - 98 votes (6.34 percent)
  • Stephen Hecht - 223 votes (14.42 percent)
  • Ron Slagle - 127 votes (8.21 percent)
