First regular commissioners meeting of the year opens up with a bang

Resident's noise complaint and an Allentown band were discussed at the Jan. 3 meeting.

The Upper Moreland Township Board of Commissioners convened for the first time  in the new year, Jan. 3.

Soon after the moment of silent mediation was observed, it was broken by a resident, stepped to the podium in front of the assembled commissioners to complain about an alleged broken noise ordinecne.

The resident spoke during the meeting's Public Comments section, and irately described how noise from an ice resurfacer machine breaks the township's noise ordinence.

The comments were from a Mr. Simon, who directed his complaint to Arena, located on 551 N. York Road in Willow Grove, whose facility lies next to Simon's condominium.

The commissioners said that township engineers were looking into finding a civil solution, if, in fact, the noise ordinence was broken.
