Upper Moreland Thanked for Support by Plymouth Township Officials

Plymouth officials expressed gratitude to Upper Moreland Township and its police officers for assistance during the Officer Bradley Fox tragedy.

Members of the Plymouth Township board and administration recently visited Upper Moreland, as part of the township’s ongoing pilgrimage to personally thank the county and each of its municipalities, who provided assistance during the Officer Bradley Fox tragedy, last September.

The Plymouth officials in attendance were Sheldon Simpson, Plymouth Township Council chair; Lenore Bruno, vice-chair; Karen Weiss, Plymouth Township manager; and Plymouth deputy Chief of Police John Myrsiades.

Their presentation was made prior to the Upper Moreland Township board’s committee meetings, April 15, during which Simpson acknowledged the police officer support given by the municipalities across the county, which was in response to the murder of Plymouth Township police officer Bradley Fox.

“Brad was a true American hero, a soldier, a dedicated police officer, a husband and father,” Simpson told the board. “With the assistance of the men and women of the Upper Moreland Police Department, they kept our streets safe. We can’t repay you that gratitude for what you did, and especially what your police department did. There were no politics, no boundaries, no questions asked.”

Upper Moreland Board of Commissioners president, Sam Valenza thanked the Plymouth Township officials for their visit and personal expression of gratitude.

“We know you have had a lot on your plate this year. Taking the time out to come out to each municipality is probably a big task, and it is very much appreciated,” Valenza said, adding that the board is willing to help the township further.

Prior to the start of the meeting, the Plymouth officials took the opportunity to directly thank members of the Upper Moreland Police department, who were gathered for the occasion.
