Water Main Replacements Scheduled

Aqua announces water main replacements scheduled for early next year.

As part of Aqua Pa.’s continuing infrastructure improvement program, they will replace the water mains on the following streets in Upper Moreland Township, Montgomery County. 

  • Fern Avenue between Davisville Road and Nash Avenue
  • Forest Avenue between Davisville Road and Nash Avenue
  • Nash Avenue between Forest and Fern Avenues 

The new main will increase service reliability and improve firefighting capabilities in the area.  Aqua will have an inspector on the job each day to answer any questions you might have. 

The $650,500 project is scheduled to begin on Jan. 3, 2012 and will involve the installation of 3,500 feet of 8-inch ductile iron main.

The new main will replace the existing 6-inch cast iron main.  We expect the main installation, service transfers, street tie-ins, and final paving restoration to be completed in April 2012. 

The work hours will be 7 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. daily and some Saturdays may be necessary to keep the project on schedule.  Access will be provided for emergency, mail and trash service.  Residents will have access to their properties.  We ask that you avoid traveling through the construction zone whenever possible.

Temporary “No Parking” signs will be posted in the area of construction. 

We will notify 24-hours in advance of a scheduled shutdown.  If an emergency shutdown should occur. We will restore service as soon as possible.
